After his long and arduous trial against ex-wife Amber Heard, Johnny Depp seems to have finally begun his healing process and is also getting back to work.

The actor was seen in the French film Jeanne du Barry, which was screened at the Cannes Film Festival in 2023 and reportedly received a seven-minute standing ovation (via Variety).

Apart from his film, his appearance at the festival came under fire as fans noticed his yellow and rotten teeth.

Many criticized it and even speculated that it was the result of years of wear and tear and not having cleaned them properly (via Page Six).

Sources close to the actor mentioned to the news site that Depp had to undergo work on his teeth as it posed several health risks.

They said,

He had no choice, his teeth were rotten to the bone and his breath reeked, and it was either veneers or risk some serious health problems, like infection and maybe even heart disease.

Dental expert Dr.Gabe Mirkin claimed that rotten teeth were associated with the risk of heart disease and premature death (via Radar Online).

Depp seems to have finally worked on reducing his health risks.

According to sources, Depp’s teeth fix is only the first step in his journey towards rebuilding his body. They said,

This is the start of better things ahead. He’s become hyper aware of how certain parts of his body are falling apart and now he’s mapping out a health plan. He wants to build up muscle too and maybe some nip/tucks and why not? People around him are saying it’s about time.

The sources also mentioned that his long history of alcohol and d*ug abuse from his years as a rockstar in the ‘90s contributed to his health issues and that he was working on bouncing back.
